Pawan Kalyan’s remarks sting Congress leaders

HYDERABAD: Police used mild force to avert a clash between Praja Rajyam and a group of Youth Congress activists on Wednesday in front of the PR office. The Youth Congress members led by their president T.J.R. Sudhakar Babu came to the office with flowers in Gandhigiri-style to protest the remarks made by Yuva Rajyam president Pawan Kalyan against Congress leaders.

Mr. Kalyan, while addressing the participants in a dharna against corruption on Tuesday, had hit out at senior Congress leaders, including Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy. He alleged that most of the ruling party leaders had criminal record and described one of them as “traitor”.

As agitated Congress workers were close to the PR office, police stopped them. Raising slogans, they staged a sit-in. Many PR activists cordoned off the entrance with a rope and raised counter-slogans.

As the shouting continued, a PR functionary received the flowers presented by the Congress activists. However, the situation threatened to turn ugly when PR activists surged forward, jostled and pushed, forcing police to use mild force.

Meanwhile, stung by Mr. Kalyan’s “sweeping remarks”, Greater Hyderabad Congress Committee president D. Nagender led a demonstration at APUWJ office at Basheerbagh, where the agitated cadre slammed the actor’s effigy with footwear and burnt it.

Incensed by the verbal attack, Energy Minister Mohd. Shabbir Ali said he would file a defamation suit against Mr. Kalyan.

Apology sought

He sought an unconditional apology. The Minister said he was ready to face any punishment if it was proved that he had sold or leased out Wakf property. Party leaders, including APCC president D. Srinivas, described the actor’s comments as ‘immature’.

Mr. Sudhakar Babu charged Mr. Kalyan with trying to provoke the youth. APCC spokesperson N. Tulasi Reddy questioned the PR leader’s commitment to the youth’s welfare as the Common Man’s Protection Force floated by him, had become defunct.

Action condemned

Standing by his statement, Mr. Kalyan said Congressmen were agitated because his remarks were not “false”.

Senior PR leader T. Seetharam accused Congress activists of trying to attack the party office and condemned their action. In a democracy, everybody had a right to express their opinion and if they were hurt they should protest in a democratic manner, he added.

Yuva Rajyam president Pavan Kalyan urges fans to fight against harassment of girls

Yuva Rajyam President Pavan Kalyan on Sunday addressing his fans for the first time after taking over the post of Praja Rajyam's youth wing post, urged them to join hands in fighting the harassment of girls and ragging. He said that the prime intention of Yuva Rajam was to motivate youth and channelize their energies to make society a better place.

Pavan Kalyan said unlike the opposition parties' contention that the youth wing was only an ancillary to a power hungry political party and the Yuva Rajam was carved out only with a view to educating youth, improving their awareness and help them use their strength for overall development.

Pavan Kalyan said that incidents like the acid attack on Swapnika and others should serve as a reminder to youth and make them realize their responsibility. He said that social justice agenda would the party's mainstay and everything the youth wing did would only supplement it.

Swapnika, a 22 year old who is lying in the burns ward of the Yashoda Hospital at Secunderabad in a acid attack spoke to media persons in a choked voice, displaying amazing strength and courage in the face of unbearable agony and trauma said that Srinivas, a builder's son with the support of his friends threw acid on her face after reportedly rejecting his proposal. Doctors says that she is suffering with 55 percent burns.

Battling for her life, she said that Srinivas threw acid on her. In her dying declaration that was given to the Magistrate also, she repeated the same. She said that Srinivas had been harassing her for the last six months. The last two months, she stopped going to the college. Once Srinivas even walked into her house demanding her father to let him see her. She said that her father lodged a complaint with the police. She charged that had the police acted the, this situation should not have arisen.

The Home Minister, K Jana Reddy said that Srinivas, the prime accused in the acid attack on the women students said on Wednesday that the police have arrested him. However, he did not confess the crime. Jana Reddy said action would be taken against Srinivas' father too if found guilty. Meanwhile, the Bar Association in Warangal has decided that no lawyer should take up the case.

Doctors regularly monitoring their condition

The condition of Swapnika, the Warangal acid victim lady who underwent severe burns on the face is still in critical condition. Doctors at the Yashoda Hospital who are monitoring her condition said that her blood pressure levels fluctuated on Sunday and that a team of doctors including a pulmonologist have attended. The doctors say he status is still status quo.

Meanwhile, Praneetha who also suffered in the acid attack is getting treated at Axon Hospital and her condition is said to be stable.

Swapnika and Praneetha, two Warangal Engineering college students had suffered an acid attack by three members. The three were caught by the police but were killed in an encounter when they tried to escape from the police grip.

Ramcharan confirms his next film

Ramcharan tej who is working for Rajamouli’s flick right now has confirmed his next film with director Bommarillu Bhaskar. Chatrapathi Prasad will be the producer. Despite week talk, Bhaskar’s Parugu is going string at the box office. Megastar who watched Parugu complemented Bhaskar for his extra-ordinary work. Ram Charan, the young megastar expressed his wish to do a film under Karunakaran’s direction. Charan stated that his film with Karunakaran will go to sets very soon. Karunakaran’s latest film Ullasamga Utsahamga audio was launched by Ram Charan on Wednesday. I am going to shoot this film with my regular technical team. Coming to the story, the basic storyline of the film is about reincarnation. The first life story happens 400 years back. I am totally denying the reports that veteran Sridevi is acting in my film and the title of my film is Dheerudu. Charan already proved his talent with Chirutha. It became a tough job to me and I will take it as a challenge.”

Producer Allu Aravind said, “I am very thankful to BVSN Prasad for taking huge responsibility to look after production with Rajmouli. Everybody knows the capabilities of Rajamouli; I need not to say any more about him. Actually, Rajamouli is supposed to direct Charan’s first film but due to some reasons it was not confirmed. I felt very happy after listening to the script.”

Allu Aravind is producing a high budget film starring Ramcharan Teja and Kajal in the lead cast. Directed by SS Rajamouli, the news that the movie being made on Geetha Arts banner has already made it to the headlines.

The movie that has completed 70% of the talkie portions till now is undergoing progress to complete the rest. Presently, the 'Bangaru Kodi Petta' song is being shot in the harbor located in Chennai.

Ramcharan Teja and Mumaith Khan shook their legs to the peppy number that was canned extensively. In "Minnale" (Tamil) there is a song, "Vaseegara" filmed on me and Maddy (Madhavan). We both shared only about 30 per cent of the frames in the song, the rest was shot separately on us but I feel that song is the ultimate in glam. I think my plus point is surely not glamour but it is just like add on credit card." At the height of her career, Reema had done some item numbers to the surprise of everybody. "Most producers approach popular stars for item songs to make use of their star power or popularity. I have done them in all the three languages – Tamil (Jay Jay). Telugu (Anji) and in Hindi (Aan). But I am not accepting them anymore." Suddenly she turns a good host and enquires whether we are comfortable in the ambience. Our conversation then turns to the type of acting she prefers, having displayed a wide variety of emotions besides entertaining the youth with her scintillating dance numbers in duets. "Dance… I have not learnt any dance form," she retorts. Aren't the steps, the pelvic gyrations and the brisk movements they do for the song sequences come under dance? "Oh… you mean that. Yes they are part of the entertainment that a movie provides. But look at the variety roles I did in such a short time. "In Chitram I played a teenage girl carrying a baby, in 'Minnale' it was a sensuous role. In "Manasantha Nuvve" I was college going girl next door, in "Dhoo" and its Telugu remake, "Veede" I was the star struck slum girl and in 'Chellamay' I played a married woman. I had an exciting role in "News" and I did a role as a north Indian lady in the Tamil Telugu bilingual, "Giri." "I do not believe in method acting," says the brainy actress. "Neither do I do any homework. To tell you honestly I do not have the patience for that," she laughs. "I am a spontaneous actor. I just come to the sets, listen to what I have to do from the director. Before enacting the scene, I just imagine the situation happening to me and then perform. There is no limitations for spot improvisations. I think I have a fairly good amount of intelligence to grasp and a little bit of understanding human psychology. As a child she was an ardent fan of Sunny Deol. "I have had this childhood crush on Sunny Deol. But I never thought I would get into acting with him. For "Jaal" they needed a very young girl to play opposite a middle aged hero as per the script. When cinematographer Ravi Yadav mentioned this to me I jumped at the offer. I was so excited. I have acted in four Hindi films Hum Hogaye Aap Ke," "Jaal," "Vava Ramji" and "Aan." I liked Ajay Devgun in "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam," so much so that I haven't seen any of his films after that just to preserve that feeling. My favourite heroine? It is Kajol." Reema says her ambition is to play the role of a psychopath. "I like such challenging roles. Hope some one will offer me one day," she says. She may have to wait for some more time to fulfill her ambition. It's been six months since Aap ka Suroor but you've signed just one movie. How come? I'd be doing 10 films simultaneously if the offers had been exciting. After Aap ka Suroor I wasn't interested in any more ronadhona roles. So I waited till Kumar Mangat's Honey Hai To Money Hai happened. It's a riot! Do you have a father fixation in your choice of heroes? I'm one of Govindaji's biggest fans.. our film Honey Hai.. is not a regular prem kahani. I'm playing a TV artiste who aspires to become a film star. Govindaji is a Mr Fix-it who helps me realise my dream. He sorts out the problems of others too.. Upen Patel and Aftab Shivdasani. Upen and Aftab aren't exactly teenagers either. My age would be an issue only if I was an inexperienced bachi messing up my shots. But I've been working since the last six years. Even with Govindaji, I sailed through our first shot in one take. (Beaming) Govindaji was impressed. You'll still look like a mismatched jodi. No we won't. The film's a comedy and everyone's going to be laughing so hard that they won't give our age a passing thought. Even Jeetuji (Jeetendra) romanced Neetuji (Singh) after working with her as a child star! Besides I'm a better than average actress. Aren't you interested in pairing up with someone closer to your age. Shahid Kapur may be? I've been getting plenty of offers with the younger actors too but I'm more interested in my role than my co-star. I'm 16 going on 17. I can carry on for another 10-15 years. Time is on my side. By the time I'm 20 I'll look very sexy. Already, I've lost about nine kilos. In retrospect do you think Aap ka Suroor was a good launch, given that the focus was almost entirely on Himesh? Aap ka Suroor was Himeshji's launch. So it's understandable that he would look out for himself. I got enough footage and earned myself a superhit. By the way when we were shooting in Germany I wasn't mobbed, but then neither was Himeshji. Shah Rukh Khan is the only superstar there. And after the release of Aap ka Suroor, a Pakistani soldier patrolling the other side of the Indo-Pak border admitted shyly that he was my fan. Have you moved to South films because of none-too-exciting offers in Bombay? I haven't moved down South. I've had only one Telugu release DeshMudru that just completed a 200-day run. I played a 16-year-old sanyasin in it. I've just wrapped up a Kannada film Bindaas with Puneet Raaj Kumar and have started work on another Telugu film, Kantri, with NTR junior. I've been pretty lucky with my South films but I won't take on more than one at a time because I want to keep enough dates reserved for the Bombay movies. Has your father reconciled himself to your acting career? (With a frown) He left us when I was 10 years old. That's when my mother made me start acting as a child artiste. Imagine, I got to do Koi Mil Gaya. Now dad is in touch.. Your mother has been handling all your business transactions. Aren't you putting yourself in an Ameesha Patel-like situation? Everything I earn goes into a trust that will come to me when I am 18. There's no reason to mistrust someone who's spending Rs 3000 a month on my education and refuses to touch even a rupee of my money.

అవును నేను చేసిన వన్నీ విలన్ పాత్రలే కాబట్టి నా సినిమా కూడా ఫుల్లు వయొలెంట్ గా వుంటుందనుకొంటారు. నానుండి అదే ఆశిస్తారు. అయితే ప్రేక్షకులను భయపెట్టో, రక్తపాతాలు, నరుక్కోడాలూ చూపించో తీస్తే అది సినిమానే కాదు అని నా పర్సనల్ అభిప్రాయం. నిజానికి అటువంటి వాటి కోసం బోలెడన్ని ఛానళ్ళు వున్నాయి. నా దృష్టి లో సినిమా అంటే వినోదం. నాకు కామెడీ అంటే చాలా ఇష్టం. చేసింది విలన్ పాత్రలే అయినా నాలో కొంచం హాస్యం పాళ్ళు ఎక్కువ. కన్నీళ్ళు కష్టాలు నా సినిమాలో వుండవు. ధియేటర్ కి వచ్చి టికెట్ కొనుక్కొని సినిమా చూసేవారు హాయిగా రెండు గంటల పాటు నవ్వుకోగలిగితేనే ఆ సినిమా సక్సస్ అవుతుంది. నా సినిమా అలా వుంటుంది. వుంటారు విలన్లూ వుంటారు ఫైట్లూ వుంటాయి కానీ ఏదీ ప్రేక్షకులను భయపెట్టేలా వుండదు. హీరోయిన్ గా భావన ను తీసుకోవడం వెనుక ప్రత్యేకమైన కారణం వుందా . . . ఈ చిత్రం లో హీరోయిన్ పాత్రకు పలు రకాలు గా వుంటుంది. అంటే చాలా వేరియేషన్స్ వున్న క్యారెక్టర్. నాకు తెలిసి భావన చాలా అద్భుతమైన పెర్ఫార్మర్. ఎన్ని వేరియేషన్స్ అన్న ఇట్టే చేయగలదు అని నేను నమ్మాను. ఆమె ఆ నమ్మకాన్ని వమ్ము చేయలేదు కూడా. నాకు బాగా ఇష్టమైన హీరోయిన్ సౌందర్య గారు. ఆమె లేని లోటు ని భావన తీరుస్తుందన్న నమ్మకం నాకుంది. ఇంతకీ ఈ సినిమాకి విలన్ మీరేనా మరి . . . కాదు కాదు. నేను ఈ మూవీ లో అసలు నటించనే లేదు. కోట శ్రీనివాసరావు గారు మనకున్న అతికొద్దిమంది అద్బుతమైన పెర్ఫార్మర్ లలో ఒకరు. ఈ చిత్రం లోని నెగిటివ్ రోల్ ని ఆయనే చేసారు. అయితే మరి మన యంగ్ హీరోకి కూడా ఒక యంగ్ ప్రత్యర్ధి వుండాలి కాబట్టి ఈ చిత్రం ద్వారా ఒక కొత్త విలన్ ని కూడా పరిచయం చేస్తున్నాను. మొదటి సారి చేస్తున్నాను కాబట్టి నా దృష్టి అంతా దర్శకత్వం మీదనే కేంద్రీకరించాలనే ఇందులో నేనేం క్యారెక్టర్ చేయలేదు. అంతెందుకు డైరెక్టర్ సుధాకర్ నాయుడు ఈ మూవీ లో జి.వి కి క్యారెక్టర్ ఇవ్వలేదనుకోండి (నవ్వుతూ) మరి ఈ సినిమా రిలీజ్ అయిన తర్వాత దర్శకుడి గా బిజీ అయిపోతారేమో, ఇక అప్పుడు నటన కు బై బై చెప్పేస్తారా . . . కలలో కూడా అది జరగని పని. ఈ సినిమా నాకు దర్శకుడి గా చాలా మంచి పేరు తెస్తుంది. ఆ నమ్మకం నాకుంది, దర్శకుడి గా కూడా నాకు మంచి ఆఫర్లే వస్తాయి, అయినా నాకంటూ ఒక గుర్తింపు నిచ్చిన నటన ను ఎలా వదులు కొంటాను. అయితే అవకాశాలను బట్టీ ప్రిఫరెన్సు లు మార్చుకొంటాను. నటించడం తగ్గుతుందేమో గానీ తప్పుకోవడం మాత్రం వుండదు. దర్శకుడి గా మీకు ఎటువంటి అనుభవమూ లేదు కదా, మరి ఈ షాట్ మేకింగ్ మీద గానీ కెమెరా మీద గానీ మీకు అవగాహన ఎలా వచ్చింది. నేను నటుడి గా చేస్తున్నప్పుడే నేను అన్నీ గమనించే వాడిని. అక్కడ పని చేసే డైరెక్టర్లనీ, కెమెరా మేన్ లనీ అడిగి తెలుసుకొంటూ వుండే వాడిని ఇలా ఎందుకు చేయాలి అలా ఎందుకు చేయకూడదు లాంటి ప్రశ్నలతో వాళ్ళని వేధించుకు తినేవాడిని. అవన్ని నాకు ఇప్పుడు బాగా హెల్ప్ అయ్యాయి. ఇక కొంత ధియొరిటికల్ నాలెడ్జ్ ని పుస్తకాలు చదివి తెలుసుకొన్నాను. నటుడి గా గానీ దర్శకుడి గా గానీ మిమ్మల్ని మీరు ఎలా అప్ డేట్ చేసుకొంటూ వుంటారు . . . నేను చాలా సినిమాలు చూస్తూ వుంటాను, ప్రతి వ్యక్తి నీ నిశితం గా గమనిస్తూ వుంటాను, తెలియని విషయాలను ఇంటర్నెట్ మాద్యమాల ద్వారా తెలుసుకొంటూ వుంటాను. నేర్చుకొవాలన్న తపన వున్న ప్రతి వ్యక్తీ ఆటోమాటిక్ గా ప్రస్తుత పరిస్తితులకు తగినట్లు గా అప్ డేట్ అయిపోతాడు.

Government is grabbing away lands of Bheem Rao Vaada in Hyderabad that was given to the poor and needy people illegally, Pavan Kalyan head of Yuvarajyam gone there to console people who are residents over there and to give them confidence that P R P is along with them in thick and thin. People over there supported Pavan Kalyan as well to other political parties that went there to extend their grief at this grabbing. As Pavan is head of Yuvarajyam was point of main focus to the people over there, as his brother Chiranjeevi is busy in Sabhas. On the whole all parties together are condemning this act of Government. In order to demolish 150 houses Government has rushed 2000 policemen to protect people who are demolishing this. This took place when all people were in deep sleep in the night, bull dozers were brought in to crush down the houses. When Pavan was revolting to this he was arrested by Police along with Chandra Babu Naidu, this is the first public arrest of Pavan Kalyan.

In the Nampally area in Hyderabad, Pawan Kalyan was arrested on the charge for creating a blockade. The popular actor and member of Chiranjeevi’s Praja Rajyam Party, is also the president of the youth wing Yuva Rajyam.

The state government of AP in a measure to eradicate the rising slum areas in Bheemrao Vada, near Nampally, organized a team to dislodge the dwellers. In order to bring the decision to vogue, the slums were disbursed forcibly by the government officials today.

Protesting against the dislodgement, Pawan Kalyan accompanied by a group of young members from PRP reached the spot to support the people of Bheemrao Vada.

He stated that this government says they are for the poor but actually works against the poor. We will not rest until we replace it with effective governance. He then consoled the local people and extended his support to them.

Pawan Kalyan was arrested by the Nampally police for making a blockade during their dislodgement.
