Nothing to do with Satyam: Reddy

PRP plea Praja Rajyam City Committee leader Thadi Manohar Kumar has demanded an inquiry into the Satyam scam and provision of job security to employees. He also said that the government should take back the lands allotted to the company. He even wanted that irrigation projects awarded to Maytas be withdrawn. But YSR THE CM SAYS Nothing to do with Satyam: Reddy Special Correspondent HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy has said that he has nothing to do with the scam-ridden Satyam Computer Services Limited. Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Chennai on Friday, Dr. Reddy said CID was conducting an independent probe into the financial fraud in Satyam. Amid the increasing accusations from the Opposition parties in the State that the government knew about the scam, the Chief Minister said CID has been asked to inquire into the fraud admitted by the Satyam Chairman B. Ramalinga Raju. “A DIG rank officer has been entrusted the task of inquiring into the fraud,” he said and added that the government was also examining the functioning of Maytas Infrastructure. The firm has been allocated a series of irrigation, road and buildings works in the State, apart from the Machilipatnam Port works. ‘Unfortunate’ Asked whether the government was planning to withdraw projects awarded to Maytas, Dr. Reddy said: “We are valuating it as everything happened in the last two days.” He termed the Satyam crisis ‘unfortunate’ and pointed out that none had expected such a thing to happen. Queried if the government was planning a bailout package, Dr. Reddy said the Centre was looking into the issue.

People have high hopes on Chiru, says Kala

People have high hopes on Chiru, says Kala Correspondent

VIZIANAGARAM: Voters are not ready to believe age-old parties that promise everything with an eye on the Chief Minister’s seat, K. Kala Venkata Rao, who joined the Praja Rajyam Party, recently has said.

Making his first appearance after joining the PRP at the party’s district committee meeting here at Ananda Gajapathi Auditorium on Thursday, Mr. Venkata Rao said that people voted for the TDP in 1983 for a change. But, the changes that N.T. Rama Rao brought about for social justice were gradually diluted after “back stabbing” him for power in 1995.

Now, with the entry of Chiranjeevi people were once again hopeful that the change he promises at every meeting would become a reality, he said, adding that the party was more important than personalities and portfolios. He asked party cadres to mobilise farmers to make the ‘Rythu Sadassu’ planned at Rajam in Srikakulam district on January 18 a success.

Unity mantra

Meanwhile, leaders from other parties who joined the PRP and who have been squabbling seem to have buried their differences for the moment.

At the district committee meeting of the party, Vakada Nageswara Rao, Dr. Peddinti Jagan Mohana Rao, Guran Ayyalu, Mamidi Appala Naidu and others, who were unhappy for not getting prominent positions in the district ad -hoc committee, stressed the need to unite and work for making Chiranjeevi the chief minister.

Once again Chiranjeevi’s name rocked the news channels today. Allu Aravind’s statements supporting the belief about Chiru’s political entry have given enough clues for the ongoing speculation about Chiru’s party name, emblem and agenda.

According to the news channels Chiranjeevi’s party name is ‘Labor Party’ and the symbol is Train, the colors of the party would be blue and red. Interestingly, Labor party is the name of Britain’s democratic socialist party. Keeping these speculations aside Allu Aravind made it clear that Chiranjeevi will come up with a decision in his favorite month, i.e. August. “Politics is not a small issue. It needs proper base and requires more time to decide about everything. Chiranjeevi is not a person who makes decisions in a hurry. He is a great thinker and I’m sure that he will come up with a decision which will make everyone happy” he said.

PRP favours SEZs on non-farm lands

Says it will return already acquired agricultural lands if it comes to power

Kakinada: The Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) was in favour of developing on non-agricultural lands

and if it comes to power, it would return farm lands already acquired for SEZs to their rightful

owners. PRP would have its own norms for SEZs which have become means to do real estate

business, said PRP manifesto committee convener K.S.R. Murthy. Addressing a press conference

here on Thursday, Mr. Murthy said his party would not acquire farm lands for SEZs even if it

implied that industries have to set up their units on barren lands, where necessary

infrastructure would be created instead of destroying fertile lands in the name of industrial

development.

Health Care

Mr. Murthy said PRP would develop government hospitals at par with private corporate

hospitals by providing the required facilities irrespective of the financial burden entailed by

them. Development of primary health centres (PHCs) was also on top of the party’s agenda.

The payscales of government doctors would be increased and doctors who have to put up

mandatory service in the rural areas would be supported in all forms. In such a situation, people

can fulfil their health care needs at the government hospitals and PHCs. Mr. Murthy further said

that the public distribution system would be streamlined and prices would be controlled through

market intervention measures. The proposal to supply some essential commodities at Rs.100

was being worked out. As party president Chiranjeevi has announced, education would be

provided free of cost to all poor students, including those of the economically backward classes,

from KG to PG. Houses would be built for the poor for less than Rs. 1,00,000, scholarships

distributed to the eligible and other measures were being planned to achieve social justice.

'Chiranjeevi Will Be Silent Winner'

Tamilians Carrying PRP Flags

The recent public meeting in the town of Nellore for the Praja Rajyam Party saw a huge gathering and folks from the PRP camp were upbeat about the whole thing. Some also went to claim that this is the kind of attention they are getting everywhere which goes to show how close they are to the reins of power.

While this is happening, a more reliable version has come out with this startling truth. It was noticed that amongst those who were present during the meet, most of them happened to be speaking in Tamil and a closer look at them revealed that they were non-locals who had no inkling of what is happening.

It is said that they were given money and brought in from Tamilnadu which in effect means that their presence has no significance to the meet or the political future of Andhra Pradesh. Oppositions say that it is time Chiru starts testing the real public strength and the voter appeal he has got. What say megastar

'Chiranjeevi Will Be Silent Winner'

It appears that Megastar Chiranjeevi has become a strict follower of the saying by Lord Buddha –'Silence is Golden'. After having come into politics, he is being targeted for every small reason and those who used to die to be on his side on the screen or even took pride to be seen with him outside are now shamelessly hitting out at him without a cause.

However, all these things don't seem to matter much as Chiru has been silent over all the mud slinging and is going on doing his work. It was the same mantra that he had adopted in the film career that took him to envious heights. His idea of remaining calm over such things and just focus on the task on the hand has got him a lot of success.

Now, he is following the same principle in politics and there are many of his supporters who say that it is this stand that will ensure that he will also become the Chief Minister and will get him great success in this dangerous and murky field. Let us wait and see how true Housel this turns out to b

Astrology: Chiranjeevi's 'Enemy House'

It is known news that the egg beating incident on megastar Chiranjeevi while he was continuing his tour as part of the 'Praja Ankita' yatra has been incurring a huge round of protests from the followers of Chiru and the Praja Rajyam Party members. However, this is a blessing say the astrologers.

According to their formula, the sixth house (house of enemies) of Chiru is said to be quite active and this comprises of the ruling planet Jupiter, so whatever ploys the enemies will use to bring down or defame Chiru will actually be blessing in disguise for him and get him much closer to victory so the eggs that were thrown at him will eventually be converted into lakhs of votes

It is heard that even his rivals and opponents were empathizing with Chiru for his experience and those who are planning some further instances of belittling Chiru, hope they read this article before they venture out with their pack of eggs or any other stuff. Chiru has now reached Khammam as part of his yatra.
