Inter student attempts suicide Staff Reporter

ANANTAPUR: A student of a private residential junior college, M. Aravind Reddy (18), attempted suicide by a consuming pesticide in his hostel room after he was allegedly not allowed food in the hostel mess due to non-payment of fee.

He was rushed to the general hospital here by his classmates.

The student was taken to a hospital in Bangalore for better treatment as his condition was stated to be critical by local hospital authorities here. Incidentally, the student belonged to Sri Sai College.

A native of Gasikavaripalli village in Bukkapatnam mandal in the district, Aravind Reddy was pursuing Intermediate II year (MPC) at private residential college in Sharada Nagar here.

Girl student attacked at Singarayakonda

ONGOLE: Tension gripped Singarayakonda where an engineering student attacked a girl student for not responding to his overtures and jumped off the college building in a bid to commit suicide. Both of them were admitted to hospital.

According to police, Hemavanth Reddy (20) was studying second year B.Tech in Malineni Lakshmaiah College of Engineering at Singarayakonda. He fell in love with Sravanthi, who is studying third year B.Tech in the same college.

The college management rushed Sravanthi, who was bleeding in the neck, to a private hospital at Kandukur and Hemavanth to a hospital in Ongole.
