KAMAREDDY (NIZAMABAD DT.): Praja Rajyam president K. Chiranjeevi doubted whether the Telangana Rashtra Samithi can achieve separate Telangana by joining hands with the Telugu Desam Party and the Left which in the past opposed Statehood for Telangana.

The TRS aligning with TDP and the Left means it has no sincerity in its movement to achieve Statehood and entered the ‘grand alliance’ only to come to power.Telangana is peoples desire and our party has acknowledged it. We intend to pass a resolution in the Assembly as soon as our party comes to power he said

He was addresseing a well-attended public meeting at the Ganj as part of his road show on Sunday.

Mr. Chiranjeevi earlier set out on his four-day tour in the district at Baswapur village in Medak district border. Women and youth gave him a rousing reception all along the route. They showered flower petals and women welcomed him with traditional bonalu.

The audience cheered him lustily whenever he referred to the admiration they showered on him as an actor and now as a politician. They listened to him in rapt attention and responded with thunderous applause when asked to support his party to usher in the much-needed change in the State. He addressed roadshows at Biknoo Tadwai Lingampet Yellareddy Pitlam Nizam Sagar and proceeded to Bichkunda in Jukkal constituency for night halt.

The PR president’s tour has boosted the morale of the party leaders and activists in the district. People waited patiently for his arrival. In Kamareddy once the stronghold of TRS the Ganj was packed with people waiting to see their megastar

The PRP chief though mentioned a couple of local issues such as woes of the Gulf returnees and problems of the migrated youth he failed to point out a host of other problems confronted by the people in the district. He devoted a major part of his speeches to corruption in higher places.

Addressing a meeting at Jukkal, Chiranjeevi announced the candidature of T. Aruna Tara the first SC woman candidate being fielded by the party from Jukkal Assembly segment
