Praja Rajyam slams ‘Grand alliance’

Special Correspondent.

HYDERABAD: Praja Rajyam president K. Chiranjeevi has described the electoral partners in the ‘Grand Alliance’ as those trying to ride a ‘wooden-rocking horse’. All their political manoeuvres would give them no mileage at all, he told presspersons on Sunday morning, before leaving on a four-day tour of Nizamabad district.

He recalled that since the beginning of the talks between the PRP and the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS), he was both open and firm in his offer of political friendship. Notwithstanding the offer, TRS president K. Chandrasekhara Rao thought it fit to join hands with the Telugu Desam and the Left in an alliance, comprising parties which could not be termed ‘like-minded’.

Whatever the grand alliance and his political opponents did, it would not alter people’s firm belief in a ‘change’. “That is what they are hoping for and that is what they will get when they cast their votes for the Praja Rajyam”, he reiterated.

NTP plea to TRS

Meanwhile, Nava Telangana Party president T. Devender Goud and his senior party colleague E. Peddi Reddy asked the TRS president to do a re-think on joining the alliance.
