The much awaited film ‘Naan Kadavul’ has completed its shooting and buzzes are that it would be hitting screens for the occasion of Pongal. Sources close to the unit have revealed that the film would be censored on December 30. The film is about an arrogant father who sends his son out of the house due to superficial malevolent acts. The abandoned son (Aarya) grows up in the midst of Saadhus and Sanyasis.
Turning one amongst them with long hairs and gory looks he has forgotten everything about world. Meanwhile his father realizing that he had committed blunders goes in search of him now. Getting to see his son in such a state, he is so shocked and decides taking him back. Rest of the story is about the estranged son getting back to Tamil Nadu and series of events that happens in Varanasi after he leaves the place.
Ilayaraja who has scored music for the film was quite impressed with stupendous making. Producers have planned to release the film simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu.

Actress Trisha was there yesterday spending her time with affected children at Cancer Institute in Adyar. She had arranged for special screening of ‘Abhiyum Naanum’ her recent release for all Children. Also the actress donated necessary elements for the hospital wards as well toy-play items for cancer affected kids over there.
On that occasion, Trisha said, “It makes me so elated while I spend my time with these innocent kids and every day I make my prayers to God so that these Kids would get cured of the diseases”. Getting on with her career, Trisha says that at present as she is busy simultaneously shooting for Tamil and Telugu projects, she has no ideas about getting in Bollywood unless there are big banners. Until Christmas he was engaged in the sets of Ravana directed by Mani Ratnam. Now he is in the sets of Calendar directed by Mahesh. Shortly he will join the sets of Punyaham directed by Thakazhi Sivasankara Pillai's grandson Raj Nair. The location of Punyaham is Ottappalam.
After Punyaham he will be in the sets of Puthiya Mukham directed by Deepan. Sindhu Raj has penned the script. His other projects of 2009 include the works of Shaji Kailas, A.K Sajan and K. Madhu.

A Salman Khan discovery, Sneha Ullal is considered hot property in the south, especially in the Telugu industry. After Ullasanga Utsahanga and Nene Meeku Telusa, Sneha’s scored some plum projects in Tollywood. She’s just made a special appearance in a song for Nagarjuna’s King and is also playing leading lady in Current. Did Sneha move down south because she isn’t doing well in Bollywood? “It’s just that I was too young to display any talent when I debuted.
I was 17 then, and didn’t want to work too hard. So, I groomed myself for two years and then decided to do south films. I was getting some very good roles from the south and decided to exploit opportunities here. Besides being a good training ground, the southern industry is also more professional when compared to Bollywood,” she explains.
What about her reputation as an Ash lookalike - did it help her career? “It was much talked about, so it must’ve somewhere! Yeah, it definitely gave me the fame needed for a newbie, but I don’t want to rely on that anymore. In fact, when I met Ash at an awards function, I apologized for all the lookalike hype around me. Trisha will watch her latest release Abhiyum Naanum at the Cancer Institute, Adyar with the in-patient kids. Unlike her previous ventures, Abhiyum Naanum provided enough fodder for Trisha's acting skills and her character is generating positive vibes. As if to celebrate the occasion, Trisha's fan club has organized the screening at the Cancer Institute.
The movie will be screened in the hospital premises tomorrow, Sunday at 4.30 p.m. A dinner is also arranged after the screening with the kids. Trisha Fan Club's Chief Emi takes care of the event management activities.

Priyamani, who won the coveted National Award for the Best Actress, is upset with mediapersons who repeatedly question her on her glamour roles in films.
“Why are they making a hue and cry only when I act glamourously? Many of my peers act more glamourously than me, they are not questioned. Yes, I have appeared in a single-piece suit in the Telugu film ‘Drona’. You can’t go to the swimming pool clad in a saree, can you? I only hope the press stops making it a big issue,” says Priyamani.
The deglamourised look was necessary for her character in ‘Paruthiveeran’ and it didn’t mean that she should portray similar roles in all her films, she says.
She is now doing ‘Arumugam’, opposite Bharath and Mani Ratnam’s ‘Asokavanam’, opposite Prithviraj.

Vishal, it seems, is taking an undue interest in the making of ‘Thoranai’, produced by his brother Vikram Krishna. The reason may be that he wants to avert another box-office debacle as his last release, ‘Satyam’, failed miserably. But director Aiyappan is not amused at all, it is reported.
Vishal reportedly has been sitting with music director Maragathamani and the lyricists to ensure that he gets what he wants. Songs generally play a major role in a film’s commercial success and naturally Vishal is concerned, thought the director and left it at that.
But, Vishal continued to meddle in the shooting even when on the sets, leaving the director shattered. Vishal even when sat with the heroine to rehearse the dialogues, it was reported. Aiyappan could not even complain, as the film is a home production of Vishal.

Poonam Bajwa who made her screen debut in the recently released Sun Pictures Thenavattu with Jeeva is quite satisfied with the performance of the film. This young girl from Pune has already acted in a couple of Telugu and Kannada films but feels that only Thenavattu had given her the status of an actress.
While talking to a section of the media, Poonam Bajwa said, “Though I belong to Pune, I am more interested to act in south Indian films, especially Tamil films. I know that Tamil films are hero centric but I would like to act with all heroes. All the same, I would like to give importance to roles which would give me immense scope for performance.”

Something like this has been the buzz of the Kannada film industry lately, after one of their starlets came up with a candid interview.
Her name is Bhavana Rao and she happens to be the heroine of the recent blockbuster Kannada film 'Gaalipata'. Sharing her thoughts, Bhavana recalled the time when she was new to the industry and mentioned that there were many who coaxed her to sleep with them if she wanted a decent break.
But the nail was hit on the head when she said that one among them was also a very big hero and Bhavana added that she would reveal the name soon in the future.
