Prithviraj and Bhavana held captives in Bangkok December 1st, 2008

Quite shocking to hear that South Indian Film industry’s actors are being held as captives and yet there is no proper information about their whereabouts.

Prithviraj, Bhavana, Director Shafi, Cinematographer Azhagappan and other unit members fleeted to Thailand of Bangkok for filming Malayalam film ‘Lollipop’. However as a coincidence, over there citizens were enraged with protest against Thailand’s President Somchai Vangasavath for involved in corruption.

As the filming over, the entire crewmembers returned to airport, they seem to have been held as captives and there isn’t any news received from them. This has lead to ultimate tension amongst the South Indian Film Industries.

Let’s hope and pray that the perplexing situations may soon turn to be solved out soon-

Actress Karthika plans big December 1st, 2008 Actress Karthika though not a leading actress, she happens to be the ducky one for enormous lads. Karthika made her debut with Director-Actor Hari’s ‘Thoothukudi’ and she was shot to fame with the song ‘Karuvapayya’. The actress who isn’t distressed about getting out of Director Bala’s ‘Naan Kadavul’ says, ” I have been getting more offers for Malayalam and Telugu films, but all depicting heroine as a character falling in love with the protagonist and ready to do anything for him. So, I am waiting for good roles and remuneration is not my concern. It’s good to earn reputation more than money in film industry’.

Heroines booze up their lives Gone are the days, when actresses symbolized the perfect 'sati-savitri' persona they enacted on screen, even in their real life. These days they have decided to break all redundant customs and if that was not enough they are even trying to outdo their counterparts, the hapless heroes in every sphere. Women activists can be proud of the brave feats that our glamour queens have achieved. Now our favourite Tamil actresses are trying to make them even more proud. Trisha and Nayantara have usurped the headlines with their notoriously famous booze episodes. Trisha the coy actress, the epitome of timidity, is reportedly said to have let hell lose when once during actor Vikram's party she outdid all her co-stars Vijay, Vikram himself and Dharani by rocking the night with her howls and guffaws. Having gulped peg after peg she was virtually carried home by her driver and Vikram. So too it is an open secret that Nayantara, Lakshmi Rai, Urvashi and many other top-notch actresses have their own brands and specific choice when it comes to the spirit they would like to immerse themselves in. Nayantara known for her fondness for Scotch greets the night in full spirits. They are our heroines, the obedient daughters, devoted wives, ideal mothers and the loving sisters. But how can we forget that in this Kaliyuga anything can happen. And with feminism raging high and the buzz word “Why should boys have all the fun?”, truly our heroines can be spared, can't they?
Rajini Pera Kettalae released in style Ohm books international and Hotel Savera have jointly released the Tamil version of superstar Rajinikanth's biography titled Rajini Pera Kettalae... Kanimozhi Karunanidhi M.P. released the first copy and leading writer – cartoonist Madhan and Veteran director SP Muthuraman received the same. Dr.Gayathri, the ophthalmologist turned writer had released the English version of the superstar's biography earlier. But many criticized the book on the basis of the mistakes and errors committed in the the depiction of the superstar's life. However, the book was one of the hot sellers in the stalls and more than 20000 copies were sold out in a few months. In this Tamil version, the writer has carried out most of the corrections. After receiving the copy, Madhan said that the book is an important document on Rajini, the real icon of the industry and that leading authors should come forward to write more about the superstar. He further commented, "Rajinikanth is not only an actor but also an icon in the industry and country. He is a fantastic person and great human being. I know him personally too. In our country, writing the biography of an actor is not considered a wise thing in the literary world. This is the real danger. We should publish more books with an unbiased view on actors like Rajini. In the 75 year old Tamil cinema history, only two great actors have scaled great heights in their professional life - one was MGR, the evergreen hero who knew the magic well to grab the attention of the people through his films and other is no doubt, our super star Rajinikanth. People like Gayathri should try to highlight the other aspects related to Rajini's future. That will enable people to know the trends and tastes of the public..." Kanimozhi, in her special address, mentioned, "Rajini is really a great actor. He has mesmerized all the age groups for more than three or four generations. It's not an easy job and a simple thing. After MGR, only Rajini has achieved this. The book is written in a good style and the entire life history of Rajinikanth is a great lesson for all of us...". Director SP Muthuraman, who has the rare credit of directing Rajini in the highest number of films also spoke on this occassion. Actors Sivakumar, Delhi Ganesh, Srikanth, Naren, Keerthi Chawla, Sandhya, Director P Vasu and Producer Kandasamy also attended the event and spoke about the Superstar.
Mallika in Ganga Kaveri Ganga Kaveri is said to be a visual treat with elaborate shooting schedules in Gangotri and other locations in the Himalayas which have never been featured in Tamil films before. The film also has daredevil stunts performed by lead actor Akshay like a leap from a height of 350 feet which will thrill the audience. Apparently, producer Venkatappa, wanting to leave no stone unturned in his son Akshay's debut film, is making all efforts to create a wonderful and unforgettable film. Although carefully prepared with good publicity, this film also had its share of misleading rumours. The film attracted unwanted attention when news broke out that the director Vishnukant and cameraman Venu got into a brawl. Then it was heard that the producer took the team to Bangkok and Kulu Manali for the shooting without the director but made up with him when he returned. Venkatappa has selected two beautiful actresses, Mallika Kapoor and Mahi, who will play the title characters Ganga and Kaveri.
