ELURU: Yuva Rajyam president Pavan Kalyan on Wednesday justified the cause of Naxalites. Addressing a rally here, he informed that a band of former Naxalites had recently joined the PRP. He said Naxalites had taken to guns only to fight exploitation in the corridors of power and only because of the present political set up that miserably failed to address the basic problems of people. Mr. Pavan said one should understand the circumstances which forced the Naxalites to spend their lives underground in jungles in a right spirit.

The actor-turned youth leader likened himself to veteran leaders like Sardar Bhatsingh, noted Cuban revolutionary Che Guevara and Martin Luther King Jr. of America and said he switched to politics from movies only under their influence.

“I fought against the exploitative regimes in films all these days. And, my ambition to do it in real life also has become a reality with the launching of the PRP by my brother (Mr. Chiranjeevi),” he stated. Mr. Pavan asserted that both the Congress and the TDP camps were scared of his brother who was all capable of filling the void caused by the alleged bankrupt policies of the TDP and the Congress. He held both the parties responsible for the miseries of the common public.

The Yuva Rajyam chief heavily came down on the Left parties for their ‘rank opportunism’. Taking serious exception at the comment of B.V. Raghavulu of the CPI(M) that he (Mr. Pavan Kalyan) did not have any qualification to criticize him, he sought to know whether the CPI(M) was a political party working in a democratic set up or a private limited company. He reiterated his tirade against the Communists saying they had become ‘capitalists’ and ‘hypocrites’ who had allegedly hypothecated their ideologies to the ruling establishments of one hue or the other.
