PRP decries release of GOs in haste

PRP decries release of GOs in haste
Says it will review all shady deals, acquire lands and distribute them among the poor

VIZIANAGARAM: North coastal districts in-charge of Praja Rajyam Party C. Ramachandraiah has said that releasing of GOs overnight indicates that the Congress is not confident of retaining power in the State.

Addressing party leaders and workers here on Wednesday, Mr. Ramachandraiah said Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy issued innumerable number of GOs overnight for the benefit of his own men. He said that the PRP, after coming to power, would review all the shady deals, acquire the lands and distribute them among the poor. He said that N.T. Rama Rao introduced the schemes being implemented and PRP would continue them effectively. Now, the schemes were reaching only the Congress cadres, he alleged. He said social justice was possible if only all communities on the basis of their population were given due representation in Assembly.

‘Misuse of funds’

K. Kala Venkata Rao, political affairs committee member of the party, said that the housing scheme benefited Congressmen and alleged embezzlement of Rs. 3000 crores in the scheme. He asked K. Rosaiah, Finance Minister, to stop lashing out at PRP leadership and instead react on alleged amassing of wealth by Chief Minister. He said that the Grand Alliance would disintegrate after the elections.

He said while shares of Satyam doubled after former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu invited Ramalinga Raju, then chairman of the company, to sit beside Bill Clinton, former US President, the Chief Minister allotted Rs.38,000-crore works to Maytas. Both had favoured Raju in return for monetary gain, he said. He criticised the duo for trading charges against each other in the vote-on-account Budget session instead of discussing the spiralling prices of essential commodities and sufferings of the poor.
