PR leader refutes TDP charges

KADAPA: Praja Rajyam leader Bhooma Nagi Reddy on Sunday deplored charges of the Telugu Desam Party leaders and claimed that he strengthened the TDP in Kurnool district but the party failed to give him his due.

Mr. Nagi Reddy, State secretary C. Ramachandraiah, district PR convenor M.V. Ramana Reddy, district Mahila Rajyam president Latha Reddy and leaders M.V. Muralidhar Reddy and Maduri Pratap Reddy led a partymen’s rally from Chowdamma temple in Venkateswarapet to Venkateswara Kottala in Proddatur. Later addressing a press conference, Mr. Nagi Reddy recalled that he gave life to the TDP when Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao and Chief Minister Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy contested from Kurnool district. Refuting the TDP leaders’ charges that he left the TDP after enjoying significant positions, he said the party failed to give him due recognition.

‘Duping people’

Mr. Nagi Reddy dubbed the ‘Grand Alliance’ as a Mayakootami (alliance of myth) formed to dupe the people of the State for vote-catching.

TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu would not even be able to get Opposition leader status in the Assembly after elections, as he was giving a lion’s share of Assembly seats to his alliance partners Telangana Rashtra Samiti, Communist Party of India and the CPI (M), PR Official Spokesman C. Ramachandraiah alleged.

Flaying Mr. Naidu’s remarks against PR president K. Chiranjeevi, he recalled that former Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao never visited Secretariat until he assumed the post.
