TIRUPATI: Besides Chiranjeevi, prominent among the five candidates announced so far for the Praja Rajyam in Chittoor district are the sitting Congress MLA of Tamballapalle, Kadapa Prabhakar Reddy. He jumped into the PR, furious over the denial of re-nomination in the name of ‘social justice’. TDP’s former Vayalpadu MLA Chinthala Ramachandra Reddy was among the other prominent PR candidates. He will clash with Congress Chief Whip N. Kirankumar Reddy for the Piler seat.
The other names announced by the PR for seats in the district are: Saikam Jayachandra Reddy (Chandragiri), Jangalapalli Srinivasulu (Chittoor) and G. Sudarsana Varma for the Nagari constituency.
Meanwhile the TDP has finalised the candidates for the Chittoor Lok Sabha and the two pending SC Assembly seats in the district. It pitchforked its former Sathyavedu MLA N. Sivaprasad to contest for the Chittoor LS (SC) seat.
It plumped for two women candidates for the Puthalapattu and the G.D. Nellore seats—Lalitha Thomas for the former and Hemalatha, the latter. The TDP is also said to have handpicked a new face Jyothsna, for the Tirupati LS (SC) seat.
