VIZIANAGARAM: The Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) has kept the nominee for Cheepurupalli in abeyance following stiff competition among Kemburi Ram Mohana Rao, former TDP MP, Rowthu Sugunakara Rao, former MPP, and Chandaka Sunil, a debutant, and also for Kurupam (ST) where the party, though tentatively finalised Vempatapu Damayanthi, PRP state executive secretary, seems to be waiting for the former TDP MLA Nimmaka Jayarj.

Mr. Jayaraj is toying with the idea of joining the PRP, if the seat were allotted to CPI (M) candidate and sitting MLA Kolaka Lakshmana Murty. PRP president K. Chiranjeevi on Friday announced names for seven Assembly constituencies out of nine in the district. In the first list announced in the morning, Meesla Geetha, former Municipal Chairperson of Vizianagaram, was given the ticket though her brother Gurana Jagadeeswar Ayyalu, State PRP organising secretary, too tried for it.
